Andy started his racing career in 1990 on the side of his dad John on a Hillman imp 998cc classic sidecar.

John had raced sidecars successfully in the 60’s and decided to have another go in 1990. Andy who had just turned 17 watched his dad compete and decided immidiatly sidecar racing had to be given a go!

The classic race of the year, snetterton was to be Andy’s first race meeting (and first ever go on a sidecar~other than up and down the farm lane when visiting home in cornwall!)

Two respectable 12th place finishes gained 12th place on the grid for the R.O.Y. Andy and John finished a well deserved 6th place against excellent opposition.

A 3rd place at cadwell park a fortnight later finished the season fantastically.

Andy won the classic race of the year with john in 1993 and the prestigious Isle Of Man pre tt classic races in 1994 + 1995.

Andy also won this race with Geoff Hands in 2002.

In 1994 Andy tried his hand at F2 racing (again with Geoff Hands) and was successful in winning the E.M.R.A championship.

!n 1995 Andy and Geoff finished 15th in the I.O.M tt gaining a bronze replica.

Andy teamed up with Steve Norbury~lockside racing in 1996 which was the start of a long and well respected racing partnership. Excellent TT results followed (9th,10th,6th,4th, 3rd,2nd,3rd,3rd,2nd,3rd). In the 2005 TT Andy + Steve were leading sidecar race ‘A’ race by 7.5 seconds when they developed problems with the bike. 2nd place was the result by a mere 2.3 seconds behind race winners Nick Crowe + Darren Hope. A 3rd place in race ‘B’ was Andy’s last visit to the fantastic Isle Of Man.

Andy has also passengered his brother Wil on a 350 F2 since 2004. Andy and Wil successfully won and defended the Dave Saville 350 trophy race in 2005 + 2006 and became the Formula Sidecar 350 champions in 2006.

Andy teamed up with Cameron racing in May of 2006 and assisted the team in a very successful season.
